Policy/Procedure
1. MUTUAL AID WITH A WRITTEN AGREEMENT
- Requests for mutual aid must be authorized by the Director of the Toledo Fire and Rescue Department, the Assistant Chief, a Deputy Chief, or the Senior Battalion on duty.
- The request for an aerial apparatus shall also include the response of one Engine.
- When equipment is dispatched on mutual aid a Chief Officer shall also be dispatched.
- The neighboring community’s Incident Commander is in charge of fireground operations. Toledo Fire and Rescue Department officers retain command of our personnel.
- Calls for additional help beyond the agreed First Alarm assignment must be made by the officer in charge of the jurisdiction needing our help and approved by a Toledo Fire and Rescue Department Deputy Chief or the Senior Battalion on duty.
2. MUTUAL AID WITHOUT A WRITTEN AGREEMENT
- All requests for mutual aid from agencies without a written agreement with the Toledo Fire and Rescue Department must be authorized by either the Director of the Toledo Fire and Rescue Department, the Assistant Chief, a Deputy Chief, or the Senior Battalion on duty.
