Policy/Procedure

If the need for law enforcement assistance is identified while at an incident, Command shall: 1. Direct Dispatch to send a Toledo Police crew to the location and include the following information in the transmission:

1. The response ‘Code’ police crews are to be dispatched – ‘Code 2’ or ‘Code 3’, and,
   
   
2. The reason for the response – Toledo Fire and Rescue Department Dispatch Operators must furnish Toledo Police Dispatchers with this information before a crew responds.

2. If requesting a police crew due to a Code 18, crews shall reference the Toledo Fire and Rescue Department C-20 Death Procedure.

3. If requesting police take a report for an assault, animal bite, or other injury in which the victim is going to the hospital for treatment, crews shall direct Dispatch to inform police to meet the victim at the hospital to which the patient is being transported.

4. When requesting police assistance for traffic control Dispatch shall be notified of the exact location(s) police are needed.
