**Policy/Procedure** 

**1.** At no time will the unauthorized use of electronic monitoring or recording equipment be allowed on or in fire department property. This restriction applies, but is not limited to, fire apparatus, fire stations, fire department property or grounds, administrative offices, training facilities, or other properties utilized for fire department operations, including emergency operation sites.

**2.** While on duty, all members are prohibited from participating in activity that includes audio recording of conversations between members of the department, civilians, or other fire service professionals; video recording of the same; still photography; or any combination thereof.

**3.** Knowledge of such activity shall be reported to the Deputy Chief of Operations through the chain of command.

**4.** Sole authorization for electronic monitoring or recording shall be granted by the Chief of the department.
