+ | To ensure that all Toledo Fire and Rescue Department command officers responsible for the administrative functions of the Department are immediately notified of unusual incidents impacting the operation of the TFRD. This policy is designed to provide assistance in defining “unusual incidents” to personnel assigned the task of dispatching Toledo Fire and Rescue Department units, and to provide examples of incidents requiring utilization of the Major Incident Notification procedure. | ||

+ | * Impact normal operations by exhausting Department resources, including both staffing and apparatus (multiple incidents in the same time frame or a singular large-scale incident requiring dedication of most or all of the Department’s resources), or events that prevent the Department from responding in a routine fashion, including man-made or natural emergencies (riots, floods, etc.). | ||

+ | The Major Incident Notification procedure shall be utilized in all situations, events, or incidents meeting the definition of the above-mentioned criteria, or deemed so similar in nature that doubt exists whether the notifications should be made. “Fire Dispatchers” shall utilize the “Major Incident Notification List” (MINL) to determine personnel to be contacted in the event an “unusual incident” occurs. | ||
