+__**Section 1 - Authority**__
+**A.** The Senior Battalion Chief shall have the authority to perform the duties and responsibilities outlined in Section 2 below.
+**B.** The person holding the Senior Battalion Chief's position shall report to the Field Operations Deputy and shall be under their direction and control.
+**C.** The Senior Battalion Chief will be assigned to a district as determined by the Field Operations Deputy and will have the duties and responsibilities of a Battalion Chief for their assigned district.

+__**Section 2 - Duties and Responsibilities**__
+The Senior Battalion Chief shall be responsible for emergency operations when the Operations Deputy is not at work. This shall include:
+**A.** Daily Shift Staffing
+**B.** Initiate mutual aid on an emergency basis. Notify appropriate Deputy as soon as practical.
+**C.** Authorization of shop overtime for emergency repairs.
+**D.** Senior Battalion Chiefs shall be aware of all emergency absences granted by the other Battalion Chiefs.
+**E.** Notify appropriate Deputy of any unusual or critical incidents as soon as practical.
+**F.** Coordinate special projects given to their platoon by the Field Operations Deputy.
+**G.** Compile a daily activities summary for the Operations Deputy. Any pertinent information should be transmitted to the appropriate bureau as soon as possible.
+**H.** Respond to unusual incidents as necessary.
+**I.** The Senior Battalion Chief shall have the responsibility for the conduct, efficiency and discipline of those members under their control. The discipline of Battalion Chiefs shall remain the responsibility of the Operations Deputy.
+**J.** The Senior Battalion Chief shall perform such other duties as required by higher authority.
